Cat. No. Used-Zenit-40-2-Canon-EOS-180516
The Helios 40-2 can draw with unique swirly character and makes an interesting artistic tool. At f/1.5 it's also pretty fast - and as you can see has a huge front element. I won't go into a lot of detail here as if you are looking at this then you will likely know all about it. The one thing I'll mention is that there are two aperture rings - one just sets the limt to stop down to and the other adjusts the aperture freely - this makes it easy to focus wide open and then stop down to a preset value and is very great for video work since it's clickless.
This was my personal demo copy from when I sold Zenit lenses. Condition is very good, some marks from use. Glass - no scratches, but possible minor manufacturing flaws - they almost all had something - but won't affect images. See the image showing through the lens - nothing there but let's just say the Russian manufacturing is about 4 decades behind. Still a very neat optic. I no longer have a Canon EOS camera and don't really use this much so I'm offering it for sale. Should be very easy to adapt this to mirrorless cameras.
The production year is 2018 - which some will argue is the best year. These are hard to get because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
I have a canon rear cap on this, however I should have a spare zenit cap. I may have tossed the original box, sorry.
