This is a protective cover / cap for the 4560 removable style film backs. The cover protects the flexible dark slide when the film back is not fit to a camera. It will only fit on one way and I've noted that on occasion the locking tabs can be pushed down by the cover so when inserting your film back into the adapter plate, be careful that they are turned out in the ready position.
