Adapter to fit Rollei MF lenses to your DSLR

I've been experimenting with an adapter made by Fotodiox to fit my Rollei lenses onto my DSLR.  This is not an active adapter - meaning it won't adjust the aperture, nor will it operate the shutter or give you focus confirmation.  However it does feel solid and has its own behind the lens aperture.   If there is interest, I will add these adapters for Canon and Nikon  DSLR's to my store - cost would be approx. $150.   I hope that I don't have to write how great the Rollei glass is - you all already knew that right!  Sorry for the lousy cell phone pics…

    Hello friend,

I have an old Zeiss 50mm hft 1.4 in a rollei QBM mount that really longs to fit on my new Pentax K1. What are the chances you would make a rollei to k mount in the near future?

    Have a beautiful day!

    Hi Andreas,
Yes the aperture inside the adapter does work, but not as well as the aperture inside the lens since its not in the ideal spot. I have now found that for critical work, such as the movies I made with the Canon 5d2 of the different focusing screens, I prefer to stop the lens down in my Hy6 and remove the lens while it still is stopped down (hold the DOF preview button while removing). This leaves the lens in the aperture you want, and then you can just leave the aperture in the adapter open.
A bit cumbersome, but it yields better IQ. Since the DLSR’s have live view, its not too bad in practice.

    Dear Eric,

this adapter really sounds nice (I would have to add second adapter EOS – Sony-E :-) ) – but one question: there is an aperture inside the adapter – this does work? So as using the usual inside aperture DOF increases and not only the corners getting dark? Or at least: not only the corners getting dark, but whole picture? :-)

Many thanks and with best regards,
    Andreas

    Dear Eric,
As owner of a lot of Rollei equipment I would be interested in a
Canon adapter. Focus confirmation would be great
    Kind regards

    Hi John,
Thanks! And yes, it works pretty well. Fotodiox is telling me that they also have a 2nd canon version with focus confirm chip. I’ll be testing that one soon. Happy thanksgiving to you too!
